Pine Café

by Lavinia

Pine Cafe is a gorgeous, modern eating establishment with thoughtful Tibetan design located right beside Liuliu City square on the front right street level.  It’s super spacious, and they offer some great eats. Their menu consists of western food (they don’t even have chopsticks there!) and we found that their salads are a refreshing familiar break from all the local dishes.

The menu has drink choices like Yunnan Arabica, Espresso, and Tea. Their dessert options include hot desserts such as strawberry, cherry, ice cream, and caramel waffles.  Cold desserts consist of milkshakes and juices. Regular dessert options include Cheesecake, Macha Cake, Tirmisu and more.  Other delicious food options include pizzas, soups, salads, pastas and different side dish options. A real treat here in Kangding are their beef, lamb and fish dinner dishes. Lastly, the different steak options which are imported from Australia are a treat to have here in China.

Pine Cafe is a very comfortable location for spending the day reading, while enjoying a cup of coffee with dessert.  It is clean and very accommodating to large groups.  During the weekends and especially dinner, the restaurant can become quite busy.  There is an open internet bar and free Wifi available throughout the restaurant.

In 2016 Lavinia Tanasa came and volunteered with us during the summer.  She helped us with teaching our staff English, writing blog posts and editing an English training manual.
